The Lady Chargers picked up a pair of wins last week to improve to 20-7 overall and remain unbeaten in District 15-AA play.

Ripley was dropped 7-2 at Covington Field on Monday night. Leah Beasley was a battering ram, picking up three RBIs with a double and a home run.

Lauren Vickery started for Covington, going six innings and allowing two runs on two hits with three walks and five strikeouts. She helped herself at the plate with two hits and an RBI. Brooke Johnson tossed a three up-three down seventh inning to close out the win.

Charleigh Cole was the winner in a 12-0 junior varsity beat down of Ripley.  Hannah Kirby paced the offense with a double, a triple and three RBIs. Kloe Bradshaw, Lanie Stafford, Anna Dale Simpson, Lauren Vickery and Madi Maxwell also had a hit in the game.

CHS took no prisoners at Millington on Thursday evening, shutting out the Lady Trojans in a three-inning, 16-0 win.

The offense matched runs and hits with 16 of each. Leah Beasley led the way with a 3-for-3 day and five RBIs. She also picked up the win, going two innings, surrendering a hit and a walk with two strikeouts. Cole struck out two in an inning of work. Anna Gover was 3 for 3. Cole had three RBIs on a pair of hits and Kalynn Howard, Brinley Cousar and Brynn Browder had two hits apiece.

Covington travels to Dyer County today and has back-to-back district games versus Haywood on Tuesday and at Ripley on Wednesday.
