The Lady Chargers (28-9) added to an already successful season with wins over Bolivar Central on Monday and Tuesday nights to secure the District 15-AA championship.

Covington had 11 hits in a 7-4 semifinal win over the Lady Tigers on Monday night.

Leah Beasley was the offensive star with a 3-for-3 night and seven total bases, stroking a single, a double and a two-run homer. Brinley Cousar drove in a pair and scored a run with a single and a double.

Brooke Johnson, who got the win in the circle, helped herself with two singles, two RBIs and a run scored. She pitched 3.1 innings surrendering two hits with two walks and a strikeout. Beasley went 1.1 innings allowing six hits and four runs with two strikeouts. Lauren Vickery was credited with a save giving up a hit with three strikeouts.

In the championship game, Johnson improved to 12-4 with a three-inning, five-hit performance while her mates pounded the same Bolivar team 15-0. Four players paced the 12-hit attack. Ali Gover was 3 for 3 with a single and a double with two runs scored. Beasley had a 2-for-3 night with a single and a double, three RBIs and three runs scored. Cousar had a pair of singles, scored two runs and drove in three and Vickery singled twice and drove in a run.

The Lady Chargers will host the Region 8 semifinal on Monday, May 13.
