TIPTON FLASHBACK – Shown above is Master Sergeant Charles E. Hall, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Edward Hall of Covington. He is a crew chief of a 15th AAF B-24 Liberator heavy bomber, based in Italy, which has been on 55 consecutive attacks on Nazi installations throughout Europe.
	A graduate of Byars-Hall High School, Hall was a riveter with the Fisher Aircraft Corporation in Memphis before joining the US AAF in October 1942. He received his aircraft mechanic’s training at Keesler Field, Miss., and has been in Italy since January of this year.
	Sergeant Hall’s group has staged more than 116 attacks on Nazi installations throughout Europe and participated in the pre-invasion softening up southern France and in the D-Day bombings of gun emplacements there. Flashback – Charles E. Hall

This flashback was brought in by Hank Sampson who is the little guy in the middle. This picture appeared in the Oct. 17, 1979 edition of the Covington Leader.
