Many of you may have already seen the recent film adaption of the legendary novel, which premiered in the middle of December. In the spirit of its release, Jones and the Tipton Arts Council have been working on the stage production for several months now, and will be ready to embark on their journey this weekend.
In preparation for the event, the Ruffin has been transformed into the legendary land of Middle Earth, complete with dwarves, wizards, elves, goblins and of course, hobbits. Within the historic theater now lie mysterious but powerful artifacts and long-forgotten dwarven treasure, and even the golden hoard of an angry fire-breathing dragon.
Even if fantasy-adventure is not your preferred genre, this weekend’s performances promise to be memorable.
Members of the Tipton Arts Council strive to provide quality, family entertainment for the whole community, and Jones’ production is no different. With a local cast and crew featuring actors and actresses of all ages, the local arts once again prove well worth supporting.
Production dates are Jan. 25-27 and Feb. 1-3. Be sure to look in the upcoming edition of this week’s paper for performance times and ticket prices.
