Brighton, Covington and Munford will each host games Friday night as the regular season comes to an end.

The Brighton and Munford boys and girls teams, plus the Covington boys, already basically know where they will be seeded in the upcoming district tournaments.

But the Covington girls will have something to play for when Obion County comes to town.

Here's a look at where everybody stands and what's ahead.

District 13-AA boys

Covington, which hosts Obion County on Friday, has already clinched the top seed in the district tournament. The Chargers will host a quarterfinal district tournament game against an opponent to be determined.

The date of that game has yet to be confirmed, but it will probably be held on Feb. 12.

Assuming the Chargers win (they're undefeated in district play this year and will be playing one of the district's worst teams), they will move on to the semifinals at Dyersburg High School on Feb. 15.

Likely opponents in the semifinals include Haywood, Ripley or Dyersburg.

The championship and consolations games will be held Feb. 18 in Dyersburg.

District 13-AA girls

If the Lady Chargers beat Obion County, they will earn the top seed in the district tournament. A loss will create a three-way tie with Obion and Westview and a coin toss will determine the seeding.

Higher seeds will host quarterfinal games Feb. 11. The semifinals will be Feb. 14 in Dyersburg and the title and consolation games will be Feb. 16, also in Dyersburg.

District 13-AAA boys

Munford will be seeded second if they beat Hardin County Friday night. A loss would put them in a tie for second and, depending on the tiebreaker, they could be third in the five-team district.

Either way, the Cougars will play in the semifinals, probably against Hardin County again.

The good news is that the Cougars are hosting the district tournament, so they'll be at home for the semifinals Feb. 16 and the championship and consolation games Feb. 19.

Brighton will be the No. 5 seed and travel for a play-in game, probably to Jackson North Side.

District 13-AAA girls

Regardless of the outcome of Friday's game against Hardin County, the Lady Cougars will be the No. 1 seed in the district tournament.

Munford will host the North Side/Brighton play-in game winner on Feb. 15 in the semifinals.

The championship and consolation games will be held Feb. 18.

If Munford advances to the title game, the winner between Dyer County and Hardin County will be the opponent.
