It’s a very hot Sunday afternoon and we will be in the mid to high 90s later on this week. Summer is here, folks!

This week’s Farm Report:  We are officially through spraying.

Which brings me to Dicamba again – I emailed Senator Mark Norris and messaged Representative Debra Moody and Mark sent my email to Jai Templeton,

Tennessee Commissioner of Agriculture and they set forth new rules, shortened: Anyone  applying Dicamba must be a certified private applicator or licensed in pest control and is required to keep records.

Use of older formulations of Dicamba products for the remainder of this agricultural growing season is prohibited.

Dicamba may only be applied from 9 a.m. till 4 p.m. Applying Dicamba over the top of cotton after first bloom is prohibited  (And cotton is blooming now.)

These rules have been filed with the Secretary of State.

Soybean farmers who want to make a claim  or report misapplication should call 800-628-2631 or 615-837-5148.

I’m not against the fine folks who sell this product but more testing should have been done before they were even given the option to sell it.

I just want soybean farmers to have a good crop!

I had such a big day Friday I almost feel guilty!

That morning, Whaley’s Towing delivered the playhouse Mrs. McCalla gave me and I can start cleaning and fixing it up for Lyla and Caroline to play in!

Thanks, Queen, from all the girls!

Then I was online looking at a car (mine was running after I cut it off and brought the keys in the house) so James, Clint and I ended up at a car dealership buying a GMC Acadia – pearl white with - wait for it -  a heated steering wheel! It was my only condition! So I did have a big day and we got 2.12” of rain while we were gone!

On our prayer list at the Covington Church of Christ are Joyce Whaley, Helen Goforth, Donna Sonwineski, Vicki Mayfield, Cindy Clark, Gary Bowie, Bobby Curtis, Gale Sutton and Steve Carter and so many friends and relatives of our members and all of our servicemen and women.

Sympathy is extended to Jeff Phillips in the death of his cousin, Steve Scott.

That family is in our prayers.

This week’s Farmer’s Almanac Quote: “Before grilling, cut an onion in half, dip the cut side in vegetable oil and rub it over the grates.”

Stay cool this week and drink lots of good, cold water!

Until next week . . .
