Another busy, but, lovely weekend for this girl.

On Saturday evening at “The Eagles Club” in Millington, the family of Dollie Miller Cummings, formerly of Jamestown, treated her with a beautiful birthday celebration.

She was surrounded by her sisters, Willie and her family from Missouri, her youngest son Chris Miller came from Dallas with his lovely wife, daughters, Jackie Miller and Cynthia Davis and husband, Sonny Davis, son Reggie Miller from Nashville and oldest son, Marvin Miller and second eldest son, Pastor Steven Miller Sr. and wife Dorothy and their daughter, Bree with her family from Memphis.

Dollie looked lovely, as always, wearing a beautiful black layer pantsuit.

Guests dined on chicken, roast beef, Southern potatoes, green beans, shrimp with cocktail sauce and several salads. Of course, there was a lovely three-tiered chocolate, lemon and red velvet cake with white frosting and pink roses.

One of her many gifts was a money three, which was a big winner. Saturday was the original birthday for Dollie.

On Aug. 26, God’s Grace Gospel of Jamestown and Pastor O’Pearl Andrews are hosting “Phenomenal Women’s” conference beginning at 10 a.m. with breakfast and a lovely lunch immediately afterwards around noon.

Pastor Bryant and Paradise M.B. Church of Covington are in charge. The public’s invited, men, along with women. Guest speaker will be deaconess JaCinta Jones of GGGC.

Celebrating birthdays this week is Carl Burton Sr. on the 9th.

On our sick and prayer list are Ruth Alston, Floyd White Sr., Robin Sherrill, Pink Sherrill Jr., Terrance “T” Sherrill, Beverly Sherrill McGee, Mary Burton, Mary Ballard, Rudolph Boykins, Judy Sherfield, Glen Springfield, JaCinta Jones, John Jones Sr., Doris King, Norma and Chuck Lyte’s family, Rhonda Heaston McLin, Gigi Baker, Johnny Thompson, Melody Burton, Thelma Nichols and Amos Miller Sr. and family.
