Leader Pet Calendar Contest Sleeping Dog

It's the last day to vote in the The Leader’s inaugural pet calendar contest.

“We’re looking forward to this pet calendar contest because who can resist adorable photos of animals?!” said Leader publisher Rochelle Stidham. “It’s a great way to help raise money for local animal rescues.”

The contest is simple: Owners submit photos of their pets and voters determine who’ll win. The 12 pets with the most votes will be featured in the 2018 calendar.

The contest isn’t just limited to furry pets, either. Pets of all kinds are welcomed to be entered into the competition. Each photo entry costs $10.

Voting will close on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 4 p.m. Each vote is $1.

Proceeds from the contest will be split between Tipton County Paws & Claws and Covington Animal Rescue Effort.

Winners will be announced in the Dec. 7 print edition of The Leader.

The grand prize winner will also receive a “Pamper Me” gift basket with various items for a pet and pet owner as well as a 12x16” acrylic painting on canvas by Art by Petra and a photography session and prints by Sandra Ferguson Photography.

Calendars featuring the winners will be $5 and can be pre-ordered during the six-week voting period. They will be available for pick-up at the end of December.

“Don’t wait! Six weeks go by very quickly and we wouldn’t want you to miss your chance to pick the county’s cutest pet!,” Stidham said.
