West Oaklawn Drive in Brighton, just before it becomes Marshall Road, has been closed indefinitely.

The road is washed out underneath the pavement, said interim public works director Jonathan Briles, and around the culvert at the bottom.

The road repairs will not be completed until the town either receives the applied for Community Block Development Grant or it can take out a loan, which Briles said is a last resort.

Traffic has been re-routed to Myron Creek and Owen Roads.

Though many other roads were temporarily closed after flash flooding the last two weeks, no other roads in the county are currently closed.
