Greetings!

Fall has slipped! As of Sunday morning, time has slipped back an hour. With all of the changes we humans make, God is still in control!

Now for the news:

Saturday, Nov. 2, the JCHO monthly meeting was held at my home. President Jesse Cook presented our upcoming event, which will be held at Brighton Community Center on December 8 from 6-10 p.m. This year’s theme is “Bling in Jeans.” Wear your jeans with your bling and enjoy a night of fun and entertainment. A light menu is also planned. Tickets are $10 and you can pre-pay or at the door.

The Jolly Cortera Club is selling raffle tickets for a Thanksgiving grocery give-away. Tickets are $10 and you’ll have two chances to win. Contact president LaRue Britton  or me (901) 644-5886 to purchase a ticket. The drawings will be held the week of Thanksgiving.

We are in prayer for Nadine Dickerson, Ruth Alston, Gigi Baker, Terrance “T” Sherrill, Mary Burton, Rudolph Boykins, Julie Cook Alston, Lela Cook Mason, Connie Brown, Christine Armstrong, Jessie Lawson, Rev. and Mrs. W. E. Gatlin and family, Carl Gaskins, Sam Gray, Jr., Doris Deberry, Marie Burton Ivery and family, Cortez Lee, Steven Hawkins family, Joshua Tate and family, Mary Ballard, Theron Alston, Judy Sherfield, John McDonald, Leslie Lee, Sr., and Rhonda Gail Heaston-McLin and family.

Happy birthday to Connor Malone (1st), Timothy E. Burton, Sr. (5th), and David Ivey, Jr. (Oct. 30).

This is all for now, remember, “Courage is the first cousin to believing that I can.”

Until next week.
