Starting off with a few typos from last week: It is sister-in-law Florene Trent of Jamestown who attended the surprise birthday last Friday evening at Olympic Steakhouse in Millington for Mildred Sherrill. My typist read “Irene” Trent, which is incorrect- sorry! Mildred Sherrill’s birthday was Aug. 31, not Aug. 30.
It’s revival time once more! Two nights of prayer, thanksgiving and songs at New Hope M. B. Church in Burlison will be held on Sept. 17-18.
Pastor Kevin King, Jr. will lead the service on the 17th. Beginning both nights, at 7 p.m., will be Pastor Dye and Jesus The Way Outreach Church of Covington. On Sept. 18, Pastor Gary Andrews and the Praise Temple of Ripley will lead. The public is invited. Please come out for a spirit-filled revival!
Bible Study News: Monday evenings at 7 at St. Mark M. B. Church, “The Saint,” on Wilkinsonville Road. Pastor E. Allen Redwell teaches the Word. Everyone’s invited.
Every Tuesday at 6 p.m. at God’s Grace Gospel Church of Jamestown, Pastors O. Pearl Andrews and Kevin King, Jr., of New Hope M. B. Burlison, have combined Bible studies. Fill up your week with either or both of these events conducted by two young men and one woman of God.
The Jolly Coteria Club will be selling raffle tickets for their Thanksgiving Grocery Give-away. Tickets will be $1 each. Purchase your chance to win a box load of groceries including all of the foods that you love. See the Jolly Corteria president LaRue Albritton about getting your tickets, just in time for Thanksgiving.

Homegoing services were held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. for the late Rickey B. Draine, formerly of Jamestown, at the Jefferson Memorial Chapel in Millington. Pastor W.E. Gatlin and St. Paul M.B. Church of Drummonds officiated. A lovely repast for the family was held in the fellowship hall at St. Paul afterwards.
The family wishes to thank Pastor Gatlin and the entire St. Paul Church family for all that was done for them during this time. Also, they’d like to thank the Jefferson Mortuary in Millington for a lovely service.
Happy birthday to Eric Sheffield (10th), Tyler Brown and Melvin Bell (20th).
Be prayerful for Gigi Baker Ephenger, a patient at Methodist North, room 540. She’s from Jamestown. Please keep her in your prayers.
That’s all for this time.
Remember: ”It’s not how many life games you may have won, it’s all in how well you played the game!”
Until next time.
