Greetings-

Time is truly flying off its axel these days. Before we know it, voila it’s the holidays come upon us once more! At least we have more cool days now that it’s Fall.

Oct. 6 at noon begins the Fall Harvest Festival at St. Mark M. B. Church on Wilkinson Road, where E. Allen Redwell is residing pastor. The church is also known as “The Saint.” The public is invited to partake in the activities, including fun and games for young and old, as well as loads of good food. Festivities will last until 4 p.m. Irene Harvey of Jamestown is a member of the church and also one of their top soloists.

The Jolly Coteria Club of Jamestown has begun selling raffle tickets for a chance at winning two loaded grocery boxes. It’s only $1 per ticket, just in time for your Thanksgiving holiday meal. Drawing will be one week before Thanksgiving, and you’ll want to hurry and get in on this one. Contact any JCC member or our president LaRue Albritton.

On our prayer list: Ruth Alston, Terrance “T” Sherrill, Robin Sherrill, Cortez Lee, Leslie Lee Sr., Jessie Lawson, Lela Cook Mason, Julie Cook Alston, Mary Burton, Mary Ballard, Carl Gaskins, Doris DeBerry, Theron Alston, Gwen Draine Richardson (now at home), and Rhonda Gail Heaston McLin and family. Sick and shut-ins are: Gigi Baker, Connie Brown, Christine Armstrong Brown, Rudolph Boykins Fletcher, Nadine Dickerson, Sr., Pastor and Mrs. W. E. Gatlin, John McDonnal, Steven Hawkins and family, Judy Sherfield, and Samuel Gray, Jr.

Happy birthday to Kenny King on Oct. 5.

That’s all for now, remember, “If life throws more fruits than lemons, make a fruit salad.”

Until next time.
